K-12 Schools
Since 2000, Group Delta Consultants has provided geotechnical design and construction phase services to the Los Angeles Unified School District. We are well versed with the requirements, procedures and policies for new school construction and existing facilities. We have provided geotechnical engineering support services on almost 100 District task orders, ranging from design to construction services for new high schools and elementary school campuses, new classroom buildings, parking structures, and playground projects. We have also provided forensic investigations for existing facilities including distressed buildings, swimming pools, site drainage and pavement. We have provided Comprehensive Geotechnical Investigation Reports, Geologic Seismic Hazard Reports or geotechnical investigations for over 50 District projects, including for the Robert F Kennedy Learning Center, the largest project undertaken by the District with an estimated construction cost of $460 million. This project includes the innovative use of the first soil nail wall approved by the Division of the State Architect (DSA).
Take a look at some of the school projects we've worked on below or you can also download our statement of qualifications (SOQ) to provide geotechnical services to school districts in our SOQs Downloads section.
Principal Geotechnical Engineer Tom Swantko, G.E. has served as Goetechnical Project Manager for some of the largest school construction projects in the country. If you would like to discuss your existing or upcoming school project with him, you can reach him at (310) 320-5100. |
